Vacchiano Vineyard was established in 2005 as a family vineyard project. Tony Sr has had a passion for authentic wine his whole life which has now been passed down to his children and grandchildren. Over the years there have been many successes and many challenging lessons—the biggest of which is what types of grapes to plant in Northern NJ in rocky soil on a hill! So right now, all of our grapes are American varieties which originated in Oregon and Michigan (fellow cold winter states) because of this our wine is considered a “table wine” rather than a specific variety. As a family we have had unique opportunities to learn wine making skills from both Napa Valley as well as Naples, Italy and are striving to bring the two together in New Jersey!
We are proud to provide you with two types of dry red table wine, a sweet red table wine, and a dry white table wine. As a family farm we continue to strive to be as sustainable as possible and found we were wasting a lot of blueberries and strawberries (due to being fragile when ripe) so we decided to create a strawberry wine and blueberry wine—what is more NJ than that!
You can purchase our wine at the Madison Market (Thursdays) and Montclair Market (Saturdays). We currently do not have a tasting room or location on our farm to purchase products but see below for wine outlets!
